The project aims at supporting afghan Justice Institutions (Supreme Court, Attorney General Office and Ministry of Justice) and other relevant actors of the justice sector (Afghan Independent Bar Association (AIBA), Faculties of Law and Shari’a, Juvenile Rehabilitation Centers) in strengthening Rule of Law and access to justice for afghan people and vulnerable categories. The approach adopted with this project is to fund activities in order to bridge the gap between JIs needs and multilateral projects activities funded through Italian contributions. The most important actions adopted in the framework of the project are: support to Ministry of Justice in Kabul and Department of Justice in Herat, with a particular focus on the “Conciliation” (Huquq) office, to the Elimination of Violence against Women (EVAW) of the Attorney General in Herat, to the Herat University and to AIBA offices in Kabul. The fund for the Technical Assistance aims at: i) supporting monitoring and ensuring coordination and linkages among programs implemented in the justice sector, through both bilateral and multilateral funds, and directly implementing specific projects in order to integrate the activities carried out through the above mentioned funding channels. ii) promoting the active participation to the rebuilding and restructuring process of the afghan judiciary and legislative system, through specific working groups and coordination mechanisms between (bilateral and multilateral) donors operating in this sector. read more close

Local Fund to implement activities (Works, Supply, Services). The most important activity completed and ongoing are: - The Motley Legal Consultancy has been contracted for the creation of a list of books for the Herat DoJ and Herat Law and Shari’a Faculties’ Libraries. - Purchasing of Stabilizers, Conditioning Systems, Projectors and Audio System for the two Conference rooms of the Faculty of Law and faculty of Shari'a of the University of Herat. Purchasing of Office equipment for the two Conference rooms of the Faculty of Law and faculty of Shari'a of the University of Herat. - Purchasing of IT Equipment for the Huquq Offices of the Herat DoJ at the district level. - Rightech Company has been contracted for the realization of the Pashtu version of MoJ civil cases' Filing system/database. - ONE-TV Media Company has been contracted for the realization and the installation of the Database at the AIBA Kabul Office. The Company has also provided training to the staff of the association to use and fill the database. - Afghan Human Rights Organization NGO has been contracted for the delivery of trainings in several Law branchs, to the staff of the Huquq offices of the Herat province at the district level. - Legal Aid Organization of Afghanistan NGO has been contracted for the monitoring of trainings in several Law branchs, delivered by AHRO, to the staff of the Huquq offices of the Herat province at the district level. - The Motley Legal Consultancy has been contracted for the monitoring of training of psychological aspects of crimes for the prosecutors of the EVAW Unit of Herat AGO and the revision of the two baseline studies of justice institutions capacity both at provincial and district level. - Human Rights & Eradication of Violence Organization (HREVO) has been contracted to deliver training to 10 prosecutors from the AGO in Herat and to develop training curriculum and training material for participants. - Afghan Management and Marketing Consultants (AMMC) has been contracted to realizae the baseline study on the capacity of Herat Justice Institutions (Department of Justice, including offices of Huquq, legal Aid and Juvenile Rehabilitation, Faculties of Law and Shari'a and Legal Clinics' programme of the university of Herat). - Provision of IT and Office equipment to the EVAW Unit of the AGO and Department of Justice (DoJ) in Herat. Afghan Digital Store company has been contracted to provide and install IT equipment to both institutions. Blue Beam Logistics Services Company has been contracted to provide office equipment to both institutions. - Green Step (GS) and Mine Clearance Planning Agency (MCPA) have been contracted to realize the baseline study and needs assessment of the Department of Justice of Herat in all districts (15) of the Herat province with a focus on Huquq and Legal Aid offices. - Printing and delivery of 30 copies English and 50 copies Dari versions of the baseline study and needs assessment of the Department of Justice of Herat in all districts (15) of the Herat province with a focus on Huquq and Legal Aid offices and 30 copies English and 50 copies Dari versions of the baseline study on the capacity of Herat Justice Institutions (Department of Justice, including offices of Huquq, legal Aid and Juvenile Rehabilitation, Faculties of Law and Shari'a and Legal Clinics' programme of the university of Herat). - Supply of printers and photocopy machines to the UTL in Kabul - Supply of 200KVA electric generator to the UTL in Kabul - Printing and distribution of 200 copies of informative material - Provision of a Personal Computer to the AIBA for the installation and use of the Database provided
