The Ucodep (Oxfam Italy) three-years initiative is born from the previous experience with Re.Te NGO and it is aimed to increase women's knowledge to promote the equality's gender through actions directed to reinforce social cultural and political integration of women, in Sucre and near rural areas, within the healt and rural development. The project wants to strengthen te role of women starting of existing knowledge in handicraft and traditional health, to achieving autonomous management of women's associations strengthening of productive and marketing capacity, and the startofr a production system, processing and marketing of traditional products, it has also provided the enhanced of the access and the quality of health services. The project is directed to women of Dipartment of Chuquisaca, Municipality of Sucre and Alcala. read more close

Main outcome

The project aims to improve the socio-economic conditions of 1.040 migrant women residents in Sucre and in the rural area of Alcalá (Chuquisaca), particularly through support to productive activities in the textile and agriculture (production herbal preparations) promoted by local women's organizations.

Direct: 960 women; 40 members of the production center "Art Mujer Bartolina"; 40 women of Apama; 20 traditional healers; 90 people in the medical sector; 10 women trained as intercultural doctors; 10,000 people have access to health services; 6 community health/agricultural promoters; 1040 women. Indirect: The families of the 1040 women involved in productive and formative activities (about 5,720 people), the communities and families that will benefit from the activities of health care promoted.
