The aim of the project is to improve the socio-economic conditions of rural communities in 6 municipalities the sumapaz area and to reduce female unemployment and underemployment by strengthening women access to education training and job opportunities. The project intends to contribute to diversify the local economy by supporting activities that will integrate and complement the local farming, thus promoting the transition from a substantially subsistence farming to “commercial farming”. In this way, the local communities, especially women, will actively take part in all the phases of the value chain, from production to the transformation and the final commercialization of the products. At the same time, the change will promote the formation and consolidation of productive and commercial activities oriented towards the market and able to create employment within the rural sector. read more close

Main outcome

Reduced unemployment and underemployment of women in rural areas of the municipalities of Fusagasugá, Arbelaez, Tibacuy, Silvania, Pasca and Granada, through an intervention of training and technical and financial support to companies and local "famiempresas", in processing and marketing of products.

Beneficiaries

Are direct beneficiaries of the project 720 women living in rural areas of the municipalities of Fusagasugá, Arbelaez, Tibacuy, Silvania, Pasca and Granada. The beneficiaries belong to a layer low socioeconomic and have incomes below the minimum wage (300,000 pesos). They come from families of an average of 5 persons and in many cases are single mothers or "householder". The placement, in the autonomous market and / or employee of the women concerned, resulting primarily in an additional economic input, will contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of the families of belonging that then can be considered indirect beneficiaries of the initiative.
