The Programme, through an Italo-Tunisian partnership between homologue institutions, aims at supporting the policy of the Tunisian Government to promote the environmental protection and a sustainable development, in two main areas: i) climate change mitigation and adaptation; ii) Mediterranean protection. Main outcome

Contribute to the sustainable development in Tunisia and the strengthening of Tunisian-Italian partnership in the elaboration and implementation of policies and measures envisaged in the XI Development Plan of Tunisia for the protection of the environment.

Difficulty in finding Technical Agencies with the required expertise interested in participating to the biddings.

Actions taken

To mitigate the risk, we intensifies the awareness raising on the bidding among the possible participants to the biddings. At the same time we promoted the idea of creating ad hoc consortia to respond to the bids.

The bidding for the APAL Component was initially launched in 2013 but the process was unsuccesfull. The bidding was re-launched for a second time in early 2015, after updating the bidding documents to the new Tunisian Procurement Law. Currently the Implementing Agency is eveluationg the final offers received and thereafter will award the contract.

Ministère du Développement et de la Coopération Internationale (MDCI)

The bidding for the BNG Component was initially launched in 2014 but the process was unsuccesfull. The bidding was re-launched for a second time in early 2015 through a pre-selection process. Currently the Implementing Agency will require the applicants to submit the full proposal.
