The initiative aims to develop an integrated strategy to promote employment and social inclusion of young people in Egypt and Palestine, paying particular attention to the most vulnerable fringes of the population, at risk of social exclusion, or belonging to ethnic or religious minorities. The Project focuses on the Don Bosco Institute in Cairo (Egypt) and the Technical School in Bethlehem (Palestine), proposing to increase the quality of training, promote cooperation in this field between the two countries involved, and enhance the links between technical and vocational training and the labor market through three specific lines of intervention: 1. Development of flexible vocational training, in a lifelong learning perspective and oriented to the needs of the local labor market, according to mechanisms enhancing the practical skills. 2. Strengthening vocational training standards and facilitating entry into the labor market. 3. Improvement of networking and exchange of experiences and good practices between the stakeholders involved in technical and vocational training and other key players in the Egyptian and Palestinian labor markets. read more close

Main outcome

The quality of the curricula offered at the Don Bosco Institute in Cairo (Egypt) and at the Technical School in Bethlehem (Palestine) increased, having improved the cooperation between the two countries, and having strengthened the links between vocational training and job market.

Beneficiaries

The project reached 10,411 direct beneficiaries in Egypt and 912 in Palestine, belonging to different target groups: A. At least 81 teachers of the Don Bosco Institute in Cairo and 32 teachers and trainers of the Technical School in Bethlehem; B. At least 700 basic training students in Cairo and 360 students in Palestine; C. At least 9,630 students, university students and young workers in Egypt, and 520 young workers in Palestine, recipients of professional development modules, higher education courses, and artistic education.
