The grant aims at supporting the WHO Project whose purpose is to implement an integrated package of interventions for both target hospitals (Herat Hospital and Esteqlal Hospital in Kabul), comprising: standardized operational procedure and hospital management, capacity building for the safe and efficient use of biomedical engineering and imaging technologies, upgrading of the laboratory capacity at support of the clinical diagnosis processes, hospital performance monitoring and supervision mechanisms, patients and hospital personnel’s safety, and technical oversight for the alignment between the hospital infrastructural development and the improvement of staff performance. read more close

Main outcome

1. Establish mechanisms needed to maintain and strengthen the operational capacity and functional Esteqlal Hospital; 2. Helping to reduce child mortality by increasing access to quality pediatric services in Herat province; 3. Evaluate the impact of the Partnership WHO and Italian Cooperation regarding TB in Herat province.
