The purpose of the initiative is to contribute to enhance the planning and technical capacities, and the knowledge and practical skills of health staff in Duhok and of the other Governorates to enable them to provide better health services, with special concern to those linked to mother and child care. The beneficiaries are more than 2.000 pregnant woman, 1.000 patients with congenital disease, 1.000 patients with blood transfusion needs, with no link to the hematological disease, and at least 200 units employed to the obstetrician, pediatric, hematology, plastic surgery and blood bank ward. As policy objectives OCSE DAC, it can be mentioned as significant objective health policy, medical training and services, basic health care, basic health info structures and health personnel development, gender equality, good governance, participatory development. read more close

The belligerency situation brought difficulties about clinical hematology and obstetrician missions unfolding, the difficulty in finding Italian experts willing to lend their work in a context generally described as high-risk environment.
