Main outcome

The operational capabilities of GTM and the main partners involved are strengthened. Patients suffering from trachoma in the areas of intervention are identified and treated. The water systems and latrines for the supply of clean water and a toilet in the different healthcare selected villages are functioning. The level of personal hygiene, the environment and health of families is improved.

Direct beneficiaries: 106 Government social workers (95% women) trained in trachoma / diseases water, 57000 people with visual impairments visit, of which 30600 treated for trachoma, over 80000 rural inhabitants have access to clean water and sanitation, 25200 students primary / secondary prevention of trachoma in sensitized / hygiene and visited, 106 teachers of primary / secondary trained in hygiene and prevention of trachoma, 106 leaders of women's groups formed in the trachoma prevention and environmental hygiene, 300000 inhabitants sensitized on preventing trachoma and hygiene, in particular women and children, 10 health centers receive Government surgical kits for operations of trachoma. Indirect 17 million inhabitants of the area SNNPRS.
